THE BIGGEST SALE OF NPLs IN SERBIA!

The Deposit Insurance Agency, which manages the assets of 8 state-owned banks in bankruptcy, on behalf and for the benefit of the Republic of Serbia, as a bankruptcy manager has announced the assignment of the portfolio of receivables of these banks in exchange for a compensation. Also, the Agency announced the sale of the receivables owned by the Republic of Serbia.

Namely, the State and the Agency decided to take this action in order to solve the problem of a large number of NPLs that these banks have in their portfolios. The procedure for the purchase of receivables consists of two phases: the first, in which interested parties will submit a non-binding offer and will be able to become more familiar with legal and financial documentation relating to the subject receivables; and the second, in which it is intended that interested parties submit a binding offer.

The total nominal amount of receivables is EUR 1,82 billion, of which EUR 1,04 billion is claimed by banks in bankruptcy and EUR 772,7 million by the Republic of Serbia against legal entities. It is also important to emphasize that the Agency does not guarantee to potential buyers of receivables their collectability.
